On this morning’s Brighter Breakfast we discovered that today apart from being Christmas Eve it is also Dinosaur Lovers Day.
The word “dinosaur” was invented by Sir Richard Owen in 1842 to describe “fearfully great reptiles” – and there were only three dinosaurs known at the time. Scientists have now identified more than 700 speicies in many shapes and sizes. They lived from 225 million years ago up until about 65 million years ago. But, actually they live on today as the birds.

The NewsWho Mystery Voice was that of Father Christmas who, as I’m sure you know, has been checking his list – in fact, he’s been checking it twice, just to make sure who’s been naughty or nice.
And tonight he’ll be visiting the homes of all good boys and girls, delivering presents.
This has been our last Brighter Breakfast for 2009. Angie and I hope to be back on Gateway FM in some shape or form in 2010.
We will be hosting the Battle of the Bands final at the Selex Club in Basildon on Friday 22nd January – we hope to see you there.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Brian & Angie

The NewsWho Mystery Voice was that of Heather Mills who has been in the news during the past week as it has been revealed that she has joined Dancing on Ice – but bookies make her a rank outsider to win the show. Also lined up are comedian Bobby Davro, EastEnders star Daniella Westbrook, Boyzone’s Mikey Graham and singer and TV presenter Sinitta.
My studio guest today was Cassie from Basildon’s Country Music Venue, The Cullpepper Club.
the trio has helped change the face of popular music. Their trademark sound–Gary LeVox’s powerfully emotive lead vocals coupled with the soaring harmonies of Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, set amid world-class arrangements and production, have made the band the standard bearers for cutting-edge country. Drawing on Nashville’s best tunesmiths and their own enviable songwriting skills, they have released, in songs like “These Days,” “Bless The Broken Road,” “What Hurts The Most” and “Take Me There,” some of the most important and successful music to come out of Nashville in recent years. Along the way, they have placed 10 #1 singles and 20 Top Tens, seen every one of their studio albums go multi-platinum, with total sales approaching 19 million, been the ACM and CMA top vocal group every year since 2003, and won multiple American Music Awards and People’s Choice Awards.
The NewsWho Mystery Voice was that of Sarah Jessica Parker who has been in the news during the past week when she revealed she’d been kicked by cow during the filming of here latest movie “Did You Hear About The Morgans?”
